Who am I?

Hi, I’m Kathy!

Brought up in a musical household, my love for music has always been present. Always singing, I decided to learn acoustic guitar to accompany myself when I was 12. This progressed more formally during GCSE music where I learnt Classical guitar and how to read music, alongside vocal techniques and music theory.

During my adulthood, I have performed solo and with a variety of different musicians and groups and still regularly perform in the local area. I also enjoy composing original music and writing song lyrics.

I started teaching guitar in 2017 and formalised my music education by completing a degree in Music with the Open University where I was awarded First Class Honours.

Having worked in schools I have experience and training in SEN and can provide adapted lessons for those who need to learn in a different way. There is no age limit to learning and I have had pupils from age 8 up to 70!

Former students have gone on to study music at College and become members of bands and I love that I have been able to help them get started on their music journey.
